Alison tells us about her time working at The Bread Maker

Having worked at The Bread Maker for almost 8 years, Alison is one of few apprentices who have been able to work across both the coffee house and bakery settings and has gained a lot of experience in many areas – as well as transferrable skills that she can use at home too!

What are some of the jobs that you have done at The Bread Maker?

I make cakes and I like to use the machine to slice the bread.  I also like cracking the eggs for the pancakes.  I think that I am most skilled at cutting vegetables and slicing the bread.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

I like watching TV – Hollyoaks, Coronation Street, Eastenders and Emmerdale.  I also like colouring and Makaton.  I use Makaton at work too!

Why do customers visit The Bread Maker?

Customers come to visit the Breadmaker to come in for coffee or cakes – they’re really good!
