Do you know the PURPOSE behind our bread?…

Dr Denis Durno was a local GP who served his whole working life in Aberdeen. Through a strong familial connection to the Camphill movement and later becoming the school's chairman, Dr Durno saw first-hand the benefits of their on-site bakery and wished to create something further reaching in the community.

And so The Bread Maker was born - a charity and baking business that would offer adults with additional support needs meaningful work experience and training in customer-facing roles.
