Gie her a  Haggis!…

Wednesday evening saw our apprentices and staff having a belated Burns Supper celebration and boy did they go for it!

Our CPD Manager, Alistair, chaired the shindig in style! Everyone was welcomed and comment was made on what an effort everyone had made to wear a touch (or more!) of tartan.

Some of our apprentices did an excellent job of reciting The Selkirk Grace before the haggis was piped in by our baker John. Our driver Gordon addressed the haggis before everyone tucked in!

Obviously haggis, neeps and tatties were the evening’s delights along with irn bru as the drink of choice. Followed by shortbread made by the apprentices with Mackie’s tablet ice cream which went down a treat!

After the meal, everyone was treated to a solo recital of ‘To a Mouse’ by Davey and then another group of apprentices recited ‘A Red, Red Rose’ - all did amazingly well!

Alistair then did a combined toast to the lads&lassies before we all had a sing-song, finishing up with ‘Auld Lang Syne’.

A huge thank you to all apprentices & staff who made this a very special evening indeed.

Watch this space (and our socials) to see what we get up to next!
