About Neil’s Challenge

Neil: "At the age of 65, this year I’ve decided that time is right to both set myself a personal challenge and raise money for a cause close to my heart - the bread

maker social enterprise. I have set a bold target for my fundraising but I will honestly view any funds raised a success.

I am busy training for this challenge - its going to be a tough one for me given that I have only taken up road cycling in recent years. I am enrolled in Etape Loch Ness and Etape Caledonia in the lead up to my departure from Lands End on June 18th.

I will be cycling 2817 miles around the UK and Scottish Islands - climbing nearly 169,000 ft along the way, taking 34 ferries and cycling the length of 29 Scottish islands. All over 48 days, 45 of which I will be cycling.

Please support me in raising funds for the Bread Maker in Aberdeen – a fantastic social enterprise and charity that gives adults with learning difficulties the opportunity to experience meaningful work in its bakery and coffee shop. The charity offers so much more with our inclusive, holistic, apprentice centred focus being the cornerstone of our ethos.

All dough raised will go directly towards the much needed refurbishment of our 20 year old café together with the creation of a teaching kitchen.”
